Compositions, all written by Fields, are structured but very expansive, and rely on the empathy and dexterity of the group members. The relative sameness of the instrumental timbres could have been a liability, but Fields’ writing actually seems to exploit similarities, encouraging the listener to enjoy and compare the nuances of each instrument’s sound….
