Grums
drum set and electric guitar
A suite commissioned by New Atlantis Records. On two days notice the original neurotic bumptious crybaby drummer cancelled on the pretext that the song titles were insufficiently serious. Putz! The recording project was replaced by the solo recording Burning in Water, Drowning in Flame. Then the recording was rescheduled with a different percussionist who two days before the session asked to postpone so he could play a single set in a local venue. Fine, but “postpone” = “fired.” The compositions have since been performed with a variety of less troublesome percussionists. Perhaps I’ll try again when my faith in humanity resurfaces.
